National Donor Day encourages organ and tissue donation, along with blood, marrow and blood stem cell donation, across the nation.
April: National Donate Life Month
In 2003, National Donate Life Month was instituted by Donate Life America and its members. The entire month features local, regional and national events to encourage Americans to sign up to become registered donors.
August 1 : National Minority Donor Awareness Day
National Minority Donor Awareness Day focuses on minorities, their health and the need for minority donors.
September 15 – October 15: National Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates Hispanic-Americans and their cultures and traditions, highlighting the organ and tissue donations made by them and encouraging them to register to become donors.
November: National Donor Sabbath
National Donor Sabbath, observed two weekends before Thanksgiving, allows different faiths across the nation to discuss and encourage donation in their churches, temples, mosques or religious centers.
